A Trefftz Polynomial Space-Time Discontinuous Galerkin Method for the Second Order Wave Equation

A new space-time discontinuous Galerkin (dG) method utilizing special Trefftz polynomial basis functions is proposed and fully analyzed for the scalar wave equation in a second order formulation. The dG method considered is motivated by the class of interior penalty dG methods, as well as by the classical work of Hughes and Hulbert [Comput. Methods Appl. Mech. Engrg., 66 (1988), pp. 339–363; Co...

Inverse Laplace transform method for multiple solutions of the fractional Sturm-Liouville problems

In this paper, inverse Laplace transform method is applied to analytical solution of the fractional Sturm-Liouville problems. The method introduces a powerful tool for solving the eigenvalues of the fractional Sturm-Liouville problems. The results  how that the simplicity and efficiency of this method.

The Unified Transform Method for Linear PDEs

There exist certain nonlinear evolution PDEs which can be mapped to linear evolution PDEs. The prototypical such linearizable PDE is the so-called Burger's equation u t − u xx = 2uu x , (1.1) which can be written in the conservation form ∂ t u = ∂ x (u x + u 2). Employing the so-called Cole-Hopf transformation u = q x q (1.2) and using the identity ∂ t q x q = ∂ t ∂ x ln q = ∂ x ∂ t ln q = ∂ x ...

Solution of the time-dependent schrödinger equation by the laplace transform method.

The time-dependent Schrödinger equation for two quite general types of perturbation has been solved by introducing the Laplace transforms to eliminate the time variable. The resulting time-independent differential equation can then be solved by the perturbation method, the variation method, the variation-perturbation method, and other methods.
